Learning strategy, instructional design, and project recovery

Complex learning problems need more than another course.

I help teams figure out what people need to do, build the learning and tools to support it, and get stalled projects moving.

Problems Sagebrush Design solves

Start with what people need to do.

The right support might be a course, a practice activity, a job aid, a clearer process, or a revised project plan.

Build the right learning solution

I work with your team to clarify what people need to learn and turn complex content into training they can use on the job.

Recover stalled or complex work

I help your team see what is delayed, who needs to act, and which decisions are holding up the work. Then I organize reviews, assignments, and a realistic plan to move forward.

Build efficiently and check the work

I use AI and other digital tools where they help with drafts, prototypes, and revisions. I check the work against your source material and requirements before delivery.

About Samantha Farr

I can help you figure it out and see it through.

I’m Samantha Farr, a learning architect and project leader with more than 15 years of experience turning complex requirements into practical learning and performance solutions. Through Sagebrush Design, I bring learning strategy, instructional design, hands-on development, and project recovery experience to work across aviation, government, healthcare, energy, and agriculture.

I grew up in ranching and farming, and that background shapes how I work with agriculture and rural organizations.

Agriculture & rural

Learning built for the realities of agriculture and rural work.

Learning strategy, instructional design, and project recovery grounded in a ranching and farming background. I build around the realities of agriculture: equipment, safety, seasonal demands, limited time for training, and work that happens beyond a desk.

  • Farm-based education, including agritourism, farm management, and hands-on learning activities.
  • A background in ranching, farming, Extension, FFA, 4-H, and community work.

Ag Dirt Busters helps kids and adults explore everyday agriculture questions. Two interactive experiences are available, with sources to check and ways to suggest future topics.

How Sagebrush Design works

Human judgment stays in control of the process.

I use AI to support drafting, prototyping, and revisions while keeping source validation, stakeholder requirements, and professional judgment central to the work.

  1. STEP 01

    Understand the need

Start with what people need to do, who the work is for, what information is available, and how we will judge success.

  2. STEP 02

    Plan the approach

Choose the format, organize the content and practice, and agree on what needs to be reviewed before development begins.

  3. STEP 03

    Build, test, and validate

Develop efficiently, use AI where it adds value, check the work against source material, and test the experience before release.

  4. STEP 04

    Prepare for use

Coordinate reviews and approvals, resolve open questions, and prepare the files and guidance your team needs to use the finished work.

Start a conversation

Complex learning challenge? Stalled project? Let’s work through it.

You don’t need a finished brief to start a conversation. Tell me what isn’t working, what people need to do, or where the project is stuck.
